For many years I worked with a group out of New Mexico that sent me all over the world. This was a shoot that transformed a simple "talking head" segment into something dynamic for a documentary entitled, Riptide.
This was taken in Pirate's Cove in Newport Beach; a very tony neighborhood in Orange County California. Here we're using a jib arm on the beach which I worried would sink into the ocean. The jib operator assured me that a few pieces of strategically placed plywood would keep that from happening. He was right.
Director Daniel Lusko and I. Daniel was the first person to give me a job while I still studied at AFI. We made many films together and I'll always be grateful for his trust in me.
